Example 2
Second example shows how to use OPTOCORE devices as a stage I/O for different mixing consoles. Up to four
Emulation Modes (which enable the control of Optocore preamps directly form the console) are available in the
system and up to two devices connected with M-Series device allowing remote preamp control from Soundcraft,
Studer, Lawo, SSL and Yamaha. X6R-DualMic devices with 8 dual microphone preamps are used in this
example. It enables a unique feature to control gain independently from two different consoles connected to M8-
OPT. After enabling Emulation Mode using OPTOCORE CONTROL software; all adjustments such as gain,
Phantom power and Pad switches can be set directly from console without any additional control unit or software.
Connection between console’s Local rack and OPTOCORE NETWORK is made using MADI digital signal, with
no additional cables or protocols required.
Additionally Playback System and Intercom Matrix are connected to M8-OPT using optical MADI to exchange
audio signals between all devices connected in the network.
DD32R-FX device connected in the ring adds AES connectivity to the system, which can be used for DSP
Proccesor or for loudspeaker management with no additional latency and unnecessary AD/DA conversions.
