Onkyo-Original DSP Listening Modes
Listening Mode Description
Orchestra Suitable for classical or operatic music, this mode emphasizes the surrotmd
channels ill order to widen the stereo image, and simulates the natural rever-
beration of a large hall.
Unplugged Suitable for acoustic instruments, vocals, and jazz, this mode emphasizes the
front stereo image, giving the impression of being right in front of the stage.

Studio-Mix Suitable for rock or pop music, listeuiug to music in this mode creates a
lively sound field with a powerful acoustic image, like being at a club or rock
coucert.
TV Logic This mode adds realistic acoustics to TV show's produced in a TV studio,
surround effects to the entire sound, and clarity to voices.
Game-RPG Use this mode when playing role playing game discs.
Game-Action Use this mode when playing action game discs.
Game-Rock Use this mode when playing rock game discs.
Game-Sports Use this mode when playing sports game discs.
All Ch Stereo Ideal for background music, this mode fills the eutire listeuiug area with ste-
reo sound from the front, surround, and surround back speakers.
Full Mono In this mode, all speakers output the same souud in mouo, so the souud you
hear is the same regardless of where you are within the listening room.
T-D (Theater-
Dimensional)
With this mode you cau eujoy a virtual surrouud sound eveu with only two or
three speakers. This works by coutrolliug how' sounds reach the listener's left
aud right ears. Good results may not be possible if there's too much reverb,
sowerecommeudthatyouusethismodeiuaueuviroumeutwithlittleoruo
uatural reverb.

"1 (North American and Taiwan models) This listening mode is not available.
*2 When the input source contains the encoded front high or front wide channel, the corresponding speakers output the sound.
"3 If there are no surround back speakers, or Powered Zone 2 is being used, Dolby Pro Logic II is used.
*4 Surround back and front wide speakers are not supported.
*5 Front high and front wide speakers are not supported.
*6 For the Blu-ray Discs, Dolby Digital is used in a 3.1/5.l-channel speaker system.
*7 AV receiver can input the DSD signal from HDMI IN. Setting the output setting on the player side to PCM might obtain a better
sound according to the player. [n that case, set the output setting on the player side to PCM.
*8 Depending on the input source, DTS is used.

a.Ceuter speaker is connected.
b.Either of front high or front wide speakers ix connected.
Output can be switched between front high or front wide speakers by pressing SP LAYOUT [depending on the "Speaker Config-
uration" setting (_ 41)1.

The listening modes cannot be selected with some source formats.
