Interpreting unexpected test results
Refer to the following cautions whenever your blood
glucose results are higher or lower than what you expect.
CAUTION:
Low blood glucose results
If your blood glucose result is
below 3.9mmol/L or is shown as
EXTREME LOW GLUCOSE,
(meaning the result is less than
1.1mmol/L), it may mean
hypoglycaemia (low blood
glucose). This may require
immediate treatment according to
your healthcare professional's
recommendations. Although this
result could be due to a test error,
it is safer to treat first, then do
another test.

Dehydration and low blood glucose results
You may get false low blood glucose results if you
are severely dehydrated. If you think you are severely
dehydrated, contact your healthcare professional
immediately.
