Procedure for Trial Operation
● Offline test
Offline Mode is set by the Offline Mode Setting Command (FL). The default mode is
set for Offline Mode.
By setting the Test Mode, the communications between the Antenna and Tag can be
tested without connecting the host. You can exit the Offline Mode by connecting to
the host and sending a Stop Command (ST)
● Communication
test between the
Reader/Writer and
the host
By using Test Commands(TS), the communications between the Reader/Writer and
host can be tested. This test allows the checking of the cable connection and the
processing operation of communications before the trial operation of the whole
system. It is recommended that RS-232C be connected to COM2 where the
communication condition is fixed.
・Prepare a simple communications program on the host and transmit Test
Commands.
・If the communications line is normal, the Reader/Writer returns the data received.
● Trial
Operation of the
System
Check the operation on the real system using the setting commands under the
actual operating conditions defined by the system design. When using COM1, the
RS-232C cable connection must be modified.
:Conduct the test of the final installation positions of both the antenna and Tag after the lapse of standby
time (15 minutes). Standby time means the time that elapses after turning the power on to getting the
product ready for stable communications
Power ON
･Check the voltage and power source terminal connections.
･Check that the Reader/Writer RUN LED is lit.
Offline Test
Check the communication between the antenna and Tags with the Host
disconnected.
Online Test using the
Host
Check the communication between the host and Reader/Writer using the test
command.
Trial Operation of the
System
Check the total system operation using the commands.
