The FLSC790-P-DC external power module
for the FLSC790-P allows for 9-30 Vdc ex-
ternal power for the pulse output. Internal
batteries in the display can be used as an aux-
iliary power source.
This external Power Module Kit is designed
as an additional supplemental module to the
Pulse Access Module, Part Number
FLSC790-P. When installed, this kit provides
external power only or external power with
a frequency output.
This FLSC790-P provides a digital open col-
lector signal. The frequency of the signal is
determined by the turbine’s K-factor, which
is etched on the turbine, and flow rate. Ref-
erence the illustration below as necessary.
NOTE: This External Power Module is not
FM Approved. Use of this module with
approved metering systems voids FM
Approval.
Refer to the instructions provided with the
Pulse Access Module and install that mod-
ule up to and including Step 7.
At that point, install this External Power
Module to the back of the coverplate using
the terminal strip molding in the coverplate.
Insert the spade connectors under two out-
side terminals and tighten the screws.
Connect the red and black wires from the
display to the terminal block on the External
Power Module. Connect incoming power
wires to the terminal strip with the spade con-
nectors. If a signal is desired, connect the
white wire from the computer to the incom-
ing wire using the center terminal in the ter-
minal strip.
Use an 820 ohm (minimum) pull-up resistor
if the customer interface device is not
equipped.
