Overview …… 4-1
Setting up Analog DBKs …… 4-4
Setting up Digital DBKs …… 4-7
Overview
Most DBK card and module options provide for channel expansion and signal conditioning; however,
some serve as power supplies, and others are no more than interfaces that allow the user to meet desired
connection needs, for example, the use of BNC connectors.
For proper operation with LogBook systems, most of the DBK options must be configured, both physically
on the DBK, and in the LogView program. All DBK configuration-related parameters can be found in the
program’s LogBook Hardware Configuration Window, sometimes referred to as a hardware tree. “Analog
Input” type DBKs will be under the P1 branch of the tree, “Digital Input” DBKs will be under the P2
branch, and analog and digital outputs [if applicable] will be under P3.
The following table, in addition to providing a brief description of DBK options, can be used to quickly
identify whether the DBK option is of the P1-Analog or of the P2-Digital type. DBKs that require no
software setup in LogView, or do not apply to LogBook systems are shown in a shaded row and have a
comment regarding the status of “no configuration” or “not used with LogBook.”

Note 1: The “note 1” comment indicates that LogView’s Hardware/Configuration window is used to select the DBK; but
does not provide any other configuration options for that specific DBK.
Note 2: For the P2-DIGITAL type DBKs, Mode permits selection of “Input” or “Output.” The modes for DBK23, DBK24,
and DBK25 are pre-set. Control Resolution permits selection of “Individual Bits” or “Single Port of Bits.”
