Selecting the right mode for shooting conditions
Advanced shooting modes
For more advanced shooting and greater creative control, you can set the
aperture value and shutter speed.
P : Program shooting
The camera sets the optimum aperture value and shutter speed automatically
according to the subject brightness. This mode is useful if you do not
necessarily want to use the flash.
You can also perform program shift as needed to change the combination of
aperture and shutter speed while keeping the correct EV (exposure value).
1 Set the mode dial to P.
2 Press the shutter button halfway.
• Focusing is performed and the AF
confirmation mark lights on the viewfinder.
• The shutter speed and aperture value that
have been set automatically by the camera
are displayed on the viewfinder.
3 Press the shutter button all the way.
• The image is recorded on the card.
