Tips before you start taking pictures
Turning the camera on and off
Press the POWER button to turn the camera on.

Set the mode dial to any mode, and press the POWER button.
• The monitor turns on.
• When you turn on the camera in shooting mode, the lens extends.
(Turning the camera off
Press the POWER button.
• The monitor turns off.
• The lens retracts.
TIPS
• The screen on the right is displayed when the
date and time setting has returned to the factory
default setting. Setting the date and time makes
your pictures easier to manage, such as when
you view them with calendar display.
