Printers are configured to reflect specific emulations for specific environments. Emulation is used to describe the “language” spoken by
the computer’s software and the printer. Technically, the language is a set of control codes, or commands, which turn on and off various
printer features such as bold, underline, or tell the printer to take another action such as tab, line feed, form feed, etc.
