individuallogfileentries,basedupontheLogging patternsetting.
Advanced Log Settings
TheAdvancedsettingsover-ridetheOverallloggingsettings,andprovideagreaterleveloflogging
granularity.
Caution: HigherloggingsettingswillhaveanimpactuponConnectproductionspeeds,aswell
asleadingtosubstantiallylargerlogfiles.
TheAdvancedLogSettingsshouldonlybesetinconjunctionwithadvicefromOLsupport,to
ensurethatonlythemostrelevantsettingsaresettothehigherlogginglevels.
ThisPreferencespageallowsyoutoadd( )orremove( )individualConnectPackages,orchange
theirloggingsettings( ).
SNMPConnectionSettings
OptionsforprintersthatsupportSimpleNetworkManagementProtocol(SNMP)connection.Notall
IPDSprintersdo,butmostPostScriptandPCLprinterswill.Thisprotocolallowstheprinterstocom-
municatetheirstatustothePrintManager.
AlltheSNMPsettingsrelatetoSNMPconnectionandre-connectionattempts.Theyare:

Connection attemptsentry:DefinesthenumberoftimesthePrintManagerwillattempttocon-
necttoaprinterbeforeabandoningtheattempt.ThissettingappliesonlywhenthePrintManager
isstarted.

Polling interval (secs)entry:Definesthepollingintervalinseconds.
ThisdetermineshowoftenthePrintManagerattemptstocommunicatewiththeprinter,and
appliestoallcommunicationswiththeprinter.ItappliesbothtotheinitialConnect attempts(set-
tingtheintervalbetweenthoseconnectionattempts)aswellashowoftentheprinterispolled
