Model:Usethedrop-downtoselecttheprinterlanguagethatwillbegenerated.
ConnectcomeswithseveralbundledprintoutputModelswhichcoveralargerangeofindustry
standardprintoutputtypes.
TheseincludeAFP,IPDS,PCL,PDFandPostScript(includingtheoptimizedPPML,VIPPand
VPSvariants),witharangeofqualitysettingsavailableforeach.
ThebundledprintoutputModelsdonotcaterforalltypesofprinters,however.Therearesimply
toomanydifferentprinterswiththeirownindividual(oftenquirky)settingsandcapabilitiesto
caterforallofthemwithjustafewstandardizedprintModels.
TouseConnectwithaparticularprinterModelyoumustobtainatailoredConnectPrinterDefin-
itionthatdefinesthatprinteranditscapabilitiesforConnect.Forexample,tocaterforIPDSor
AFPprintersthatsupportEncapsulatedPostscriptresourcesincludedthroughanIncludeObject
(IOB)structuredfield.SuchaprintoutputModelwouldneedtobecustomizedforyou.Thesecus-
tomizedPrinterDefinitionswillbecreatedbyUplandOLSupport,inconjunctionwithinformation
youprovideaboutbothyourprinterandyourspecificneeds.Supportwillthenprovideyouwitha
customizedPrinterDefinitionthatsupportsthedesiredfunctionalitywithyourspecificprinter.
Bydefault,ConnectinitiallydisplaysjustasinglegenericPDF outputoption,tokeeptheinterface
clean.ButotherprintoutputtypescanbeaddedtothePrinterModeldrop-downlistatanytime
viathe Import Definitionsbutton.
