Editing an imported .po file
Whenyoudouble-clicka.pofileintheTranslationsfolderitwillbeopenedinthetexteditorofthe
Designer,whereyoucanreadandeditit.Ifyouareworkingwithatranslatorortranslatingagency,
remembertosendthemacopyofthemodified.pofiletokeepthe.pofilesinsync.
Updating an imported .po file
OLConnectDesignermonitorsthe.pofileondisk(inthefolderfromwhichitwaslastimported)for
changes.Whena.pofileondiskhaschanged,therespective.pofileinthetemplategetsasmallaster-
iskbehinditsname.Right-clickthefileintheTranslationsfolderandselectUpdatefromthecontextual
menutoimportthelatestchanges.
Using a remote .po file
Inordertousearemote.pofile,youmustaddtheURLtotheTranslationsfolderontheResources
pane.
1. Right-clicktheTranslationsfolderontheResourcespane,andselectNew Translation > New
Remote PO file.
2. EnteranameforthefileasitappearsintheTranslationsfolder.Forbettermanagement,it'sbest
tousethesamefilenameastheremoteresource.
3. EntertheURLfortheremote.pofile.
Ifthefileislocatedonanexternalwebserver,thismustbeafullURL,includingthehttp://or
https://prefix,domainname,pathandfilename.
IfthefileislocatedonyournetworkyoucanclicktheBrowsebuttonorenterthepathandfile
namemanually.
Thecompletesyntaxwiththe"file"protocolis:file://<host>/<path>
Ifthehostis"localhost",itcanbeomitted,resultingin:file:///<path>
Example: file:///c:/resources/translations/de-DE.po.
Ifthefileislocatedonanotherserverinyournetwork,thepathmustcontainfiveslashes
after"file:".
Tochange the urltoaremotefilethatiscurrentlybeingusedinthetemplate,expandtheTranslations
folderontheResourcespane,thenright-clickthe.rpofileandselectProperties....
