Formatting a paragraph
ThroughtheParagraphFormattingdialogyoucansetthelineheightandfirstindentofaparagraph,
andspecifyhowtohandlepagebreaksbefore,inandaftertheparagraph.Italsoletsyouaddspacing
andaborder;see"Spacing"onpage296and"Border"onpage285.
ToopentheParagraphFormattingdialog,selectaparagraph(see:"Selectinganelement"on
page174)orplacethecursorinaparagraph,andthenselectFormat > Paragraph.

Removinglocalformattingfromtext
LayoutbuttonsandoptionsontheFormatmenuaddinlinestyletagstothetext.Styletagscanlook
likethis:<b>...</b>orlikethis:<p style= "color: red;" >.
InlinestyletagshavepriorityoverstylesdefinedinaCSSfilebecausetheyareconsideredmorespe-
cific(see"UsingamorespecificCSSrule"onpage269).Forexample,whenaformattingruleinastyle
sheetcolorsallparagraphsgreen,aparagraphwithaninlinestyletagtocoloritredwouldstillstayred.
So,whenaruleinastylesheetdoesn’tseemtowork,aninlinestyletagmaybetheculprit.Inthatcase
youmightwanttoremovethelocalformatting.
Toremovelocalformatting:

SelecttheformattedtextandclickthetoolbarbuttonRemove Formatting.Doingthisremoves
inlinestyletagsfromtheselection.

Alternatively,clicktheSourcetabatthebottomoftheworkspace(orselectView > Source
View)tomanuallyremovestyletags.
