Variable Content Document File Formats: PTZ, PTK and PS
Are there various types of PlanetPress Design documents?
PlanetPress Suite Workflow Tools accept documents created in PlanetPress Design 4 up to the current version.
When sending a document to a PlanetPress Suite Workflow Tools from the Design tool, the version of the remote Plan-
etPress Suite Workflow Tools is used to determine in which format the document will be sent. If the remote Workflow ver-
sion is 7.0.x, a PTK is sent; if the version is 7.1.0 or higher, a PTZ is sent.
Sending a PTK File(PlanetPress Suite Workflow Tools up to version 7.0.x)
In PlanetPress Design, when you install a document in a PlanetPress Suite Workflow Tools up to version 7.0.x, your Plan-
etPress Suite Workflow Tools receives the document as a PlanetPress Talk (PTK) file and saves it in its Documents
folder. The PTK file contains all the information your PlanetPress Suite Workflow Tools requires to generate the Post-
Script code for any output (printer, PlanetPress Image, or PlanetPress Fax).
Sending a PTZ File(PlanetPress Suite Workflow Tools version 7.1.0 and up)
