Contamination, which can cause errors or ink to be placed on the wrong document.
Pen ID
The serial number of the Anoto Digital Pen. It is registered in the PlanetPress Capture database and is present in each PGC file.
PGCFile
Pen Generated Coordinates; PGC File containing all ink processed while the pen was undocked along with the Pen ID. It is pos-
sible that a single document requires multiple PGC, just as it is possible that a single PGC have multiple documents.
Pidget
Type of PlanetPress Capture object. Page element used to give instructions to the Anoto pen, as opposed to recording ink.
PlanetPress Capture Database
A database containing the list of patterns, sequences, registered pens and documents. The Capture Database can be used by a
single server, or by multiple servers in a Client/Server architecture.
Trace Code
Anoto pattern number.Represents the pattern on the page. Can be used to retrace the document to which the pattern belong.

TURE is based on Anoto Digital Pen and Paper Technology, which is covered by over 200
patents worldwide, including but not limited to US6663008, US7172131, US7248250,
US7281668, JP3872498, JP3842283, CN1595440, SE517445, RU2256225, and AU773011.
General Considerations
Here are some general considerations in regards to PlanetPress Capture, its environment, the hardware and the software that
interacts with it. Please review these considerations carefully as they may impact PlanetPress Capture and its functionality.
Output Printers
PlanetPress Capture patterns should always be printed on a laser printer with a minimum resolution of 600dpi. The patterns
must always be printed in true black (not in color composite), however it is recommended by Anoto that all other elements on
the page should not be in true black. Since the Anoto digital pen uses an infrared camera to read the ink, it will only pick up
100%true black ink. Ink other than the patterns, if printed with true black, may interfere with the pen reading data on the
page.
Inkjet printers and low resolution printers are not supported.
Paper quality and ink
Because of the precision required in the patterns for the pen to read data correctly the quality of the paper and the ink are
important. Any paper that may cause the ink to disperse or smudge, such as some glossy or recycled paper, could cause the
