Specifying a PDF for the front: the fast way
ToquicklyselectaPDFfileforthefrontofaMedia,dragthePDFfilefromtheWindowsExplorertoone
oftheMedia.TheSelectImagedialogopens;selectanimageandchecktheoptionSave with tem-
plateifyouwanttoinserttheimageintotheImagesfolderontheResourcespane.(ForPDFfiles
selectedbyURLthisoptionisalwayschecked.)
AlternativelyyoucouldfirstimportthePDFfiletotheImagesfolderontheResourcespane(using
drag&drop)anddragitfromthereononeoftheMediaintheMediafolder.
Eitherway,youcannotsetanyoptions.
TobeabletospecifyaPDFfileforboththefrontandthebackoftheMedia,andtospecifyapositionfor
theMedia'sPDFfiles,youhavetoeditthepropertiesoftheMedia.
Setting Media properties
Mediahaveanumberofpropertiesthatyoucanset.YoucanchangetheMedia'spagesizeandmar-
gins(aslongasitisn'tappliedtoasection),youcanspecifyaPDFfile(oranyothertypeofimagefile)
forboththefrontandthebackoftheMedia,andyoucandeterminehowthevirtualstationeryshouldbe
positionedonthepage.Thisisdoneasfollows:
1. OntheResourcespane,expandtheContextsfolder,expandtheMediafolder,right-clickthe
MediaandclickProperties.
2. NowyoucanchangethenameandpagesizeoftheMedia.Notethatitisn'tpossibletochange
thepagesizeoncetheMediaisappliedtoasection.Mediacanonlybeappliedtosectionsthat
havethesamesize.
3. OntheVirtual Stationerytab,youcanclicktheSelect ImagebuttontoselectaPDFimagefile.
EncryptedPDFfilesarenot supportedinPDF pass-throughmode.See"PDFOptions"on
page1092.
