Updating to Connect 2019.1 from earlier Connect version
InordertoupdatePlanetPressConnectto2019.1itisfirstnecessarytoupdatetheConnectLicense.
FordetailsonhowtoupgradetheConnectLicenseofflineseetheUpgrading Connect on machines
with no internet accesssectioninthedocument.
InitialConnectInstallation
GoDaddy Root Certificate Authority needs to be installed
InordertoinstallPlanetPressConnectitisnecessaryfortheGoDaddyRootCertificateAuthoritytobe
installed(G2Certificate)onthehostmachineandforthistobeverifiedonline.Whenamachinehosting
theinstallationdoesnothaveaccesstotheInternet,theinstallationwillfailbecausetheverificationcan-
notbeperformed.TosolvethisproblemonemustfirstensurethatallWindowsupdateshavebeen
installedonthehostmachine.OncetheWindowsupdatesareconfirmedasbeinguptodate,thencom-
pletethefollowingsteps:
1. Gotohttps://certs.godaddy.com/repositoryanddownloadthefollowingtwocertificatestocopyto
theofflinemachine:

GoDaddyClass2CertificationAuthorityRootCertificate-G2-thefileisgdroot-g2.crt
l
GoDaddySecureServerCertificate(IntermediateCertificate)-G2-thefileisgdig2.crt
2. Installthecertificates:Rightmouseclick->InstallCertificate,andfollowthestepsthroughthe
subsequentwizard.
3. NowcopythePlanetPressConnectinstallertotheofflinemachineandstarttheinstallationas
normal
Windows certificate validation - Certificate Revocation List retrieval should be switched off
ForyoursecurityObjectifLunedigitallysignsallrelevantfileswithourownnameandcertificate.The
integrityofthesefilesischeckedatvarioustimesbydifferent,contextrelated,methods.Oneofthese
checks,doneduringtheinstallationprocess,usestheWindowscertificatevalidationcheck..
TheWindowscertificatevalidationprocessnotonlycheckstheintegrityofafileagainstitssignature,
butalsousuallychecksifthecertificateitselfisstillvalid.ThatcheckisdoneagainstthecurrentCer-
tificateRevocationList(CRL),whichneedstoberetrievedfromtheinternet.However,ifthemachinein
questiondoesnothaveinternetaccess,theretrievaloftheCRLmustfail,whichwillleadtosubsequent
validationissues.
Tocircumventsuchissuesitishighly recommendedtoswitchofftheCRLretrievalpriortoinstalling
Connectonmachineswithoutinternetaccess.Thereisnosecurityriskassociatedwiththis,asthe
