ThePrintPromotionalJobsSampleProjectcreatesasimple,yetcompleteOLConnectprojectthatpro-
ducespromotional print output.
TheprojectextractsdatafromanXMLfileandusesthatdatatopersonalizeapromotionalletter.The
outputisasinglefilecontainingalltheletters,intheformatthatwasselectedinthewizard(PDF,PCL
orPostScriptLevel3).

Installingtheproject
SelectFile > New > Sample Projects > Print Promotional JobsfromthemenutostartthePrintPro-
motionalJobsSampleProject.(Seealso:"PromotionalPrintJobs-SampleProject"onpage922.)
Note: Inordertousetheproject,OLConnectServerandOLConnectWorkflowmustbeinstalled
onthelocalmachine.
Thewizardletsyouselectthefolderinwhichyouwantthesolutiontobeinstalled.SinceSamplePro-
jectsareversioned(see"Versionedprojects"onpage123),thesoftwaresuggeststostoreitintheOL
ConnectfolderthatislocatedinyourDocumentsfolder.Bydefault,allversionedprojecthavetheir
ownfolderunderDocuments/Connect.
Intheselectedfolder,theSampleProjectwillcreatetwosubfolders:ConfigurationsandWorkspace.
Theproject'sresourcefilesaresavedtotheConfigurationsfolder.
TheWorkspacefolderisusedfordebuggingorrunningthesolution.IthasanInfolderthatmaybe
usedtomonitorincomingdataandanOutfoldertowriteoutputfilesto.
Theselectedfolder'spathissavedtoaglobalvariableintheWorkflowconfiguration(see"Workflow
configuration"onpage151).
ThatvariableisusedinthesettingsoftheCaptureFolderandSendtoFoldertasks.
Next,youhavetoselectthedesiredoutputtype:PDF,PCLorPostScriptLevel3.Eachoftheoutput
typesisavailableintwovariants.The'Stationery'variantswillincludethevirtualstationery(storedin
theOLConnecttemplate)intheoutput.ThisisasettingintheOutputCreationPreset(see"Printset-
tings"onpage150).
Finally,entertheusernameandpasswordthatwillallowthesoftwaretoaccesstheConnectServer.
Testingandrunningtheproject
OncetheSampleProjecthasfinishedtheinstallation,theprojectisreadytobetested.
