TheOutputEngine(Weaver)memoryfootprinthasincreasedinConnect2018.2.Thismeanssome
usersmightneedtoincreasetheirWeavermemoryallocationintheEngine Setuppreferences.
Note:Whenrunningreallylargejobs,itoftenpaystoincreaseWeavermemoryallocation,evenifonly
forthedurationoftheproductionjob(s).

WhenaddingtextasAdditionalContentinOutputPresets,TrueTypeCollections(TTC)fontfiles
werenotsupported.TTCfontsallowasinglefiletoholdmultiplefontstypes.SinceTTCfontscan
beimportantforAsianlanguagefonts,wehavenowaddedsupportforthese.
Previously,AdditionalContenttextallowedselectingBoldandItalicforanyfont,evenifthebold
oritalicversionwasnotpresent.Wenowonlydisplaythefontvariationoptionsforafont,ifthat
fontvariationisactuallyavailable.

Addedselectionforeithersimplemixedbytefontencoding(forsmallersize)orfixed2byteCID
fontswithidentityencoding(forgreatestcompatibility)forPDFoutput.(SHARED-65462)
Connectalwaysusedsimplefontsinitsoutput,butdynamicallyswitchedtocompositefonts
whenthenumberofcharactersinafontgrewtoolarge.Thisapproachbestreducedoutputfile
size.Butinsomecasesthedynamicfontcreationcausedviewingissueswithcertain
PDFviewers,eventhoughthefontmethodiscompliantwithPDFstandards.
Toaccommodatesuch,wehaveprovidedanalternativefontcreationmethodwhichalwayscre-
atesCIDfontswithidentityencoding.Thisresultsinlargeroutputfiles,butprovidesbetter
