TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
DESCRIPTION
• Instant Solder is a special formulation of lead free solder powder
and active flux and can be used for sheet metal repairs, hobby or
craft work.
APPLICATION / USES
• Oatey Lead Free Instant Solder is ideal for tinning large surfaces
or applying small amounts of solder to a specific area.
Consult Oatey Technical Department for applications not specifically
referenced above.

Melting Range 420° F to 455° F
PRECAUTIONS
Keep container closed when not in use. Use adequate ventilation and avoid inhaling
fumes when soldering. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Eye contact can cause
irritation, discomfort, blurred vision. Prolonged skin contact can cause skin irritation
with rash. Wear safety glasses with side shields when soldering. Wash hands after
use. DO NOT REUSE EMPTY CONTAINER. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
FIRST AID: If swallowed: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Dilute by drinking lots of
water or milk. Call physician immediately. Eye Contact: Rinse eye with water for 15
minutes. Call physician immediately. Skin contact: Wash affected area with soap
and water. If burn or rash appears, consult a physician. If inhaled: If excessive
fumes are breathed in, seek fresh air.

DIRECTIONS
Note:
Product may separate- knead tube before using. Do not stand directly
below joints when using Instant Solder as the product may drip.
Clean all surfaces to be joined, removing all corrosion or oil.
Apply Instant Solder
to pipe and fitting using a brush. Do not apply with fingers.
Apply heat near metal
surfaces. Do not heat Instant Solder directly. Solder should bubble and run
around the joint Once solder has flowed around the circumference of the joint,
remove heat and let the joint cool undisturbed. Wipe the joint clean with a damp
cloth. When soldering piping 1" or larger in diameter, add lead free wire solder
to the joint to ensure gap is filled.
