Installing the Linux® Development Tools
This section explains how to install CodeWarrior Development Studio for Power
Architecture Processors, Linux Platform/Application Edition. This product lets you
perform embedded Linux application and kernel development and runs on the Linu
operating system.
System Requirements
Table 3.1 lists the minimum requirements a PC running Linux must meet to run
CodeWarrior Development Studio for Power Architecture Processors, Platform Edition.
Installation Procedure
NOTE If you are using a USB TAP probe, disconnect it from your Linux PC before
beginning the CodeWarrior software installation. If the USB TAP is connected
during installation, the driver for this device may not be installed properly.
To install CodeWarrior Development Studio for Power Architecture Processors, Linux
Platform Edition, follow these steps:
1. Put the installation CD for the embedded Linux tools in the CD drive of your
Linux PC.
2. Mount the CD on the host filesystem, if necessary.
3. Open a terminal window.
