Self-regulating heating cables for roof & gutter snow melting

and de-icing

Raychem GM-2X and GM-2XT heating cables provide roof and gutter snow melting and

de-icing for following applications:

• Roofs comprising standard roofing materials, including slate, shingle, bitumen, tar, wood,

metal, and plastic.

• Gutters of standard materials, including metal, plastic, and wood.

• Drainpipes of standard materials, including metal and plastic.

The heating element of a GM-2X(T) consists of a continuous core conductive polymer

extruded between two copper conductors. As current flows through the core, the heating

cable regulates its heat output in accordance with ambient conditions. The self-regulating

feature eliminates hot spots and results in better temperature control to protect roof and

gutter materials.

The heating cable is available with a fluoropolymer outer jacket (-XT) which provides

maximum abrasion, chemical, and mechanical resistance; or a polyolefin outer jacket (-X) that

is more economical for less demanding applications.

Low installed cost

The GM-2X (T) heating cable’s parallel circuitry allows it to be cut to the exact length. Such

characteristics simplify and streamline the design of a roof and gutter snow melting system.

Installation is quick and simple. Features that make the snow melting system easy to install

in new build projects, or as part of ongoing during building renovation.
