the risk of fire or electric
shock, never remove
the bottom cover of the

HEAT SAFETY
• Ensure that the surface where
the appliance operates is
stable, level, clean, and dry.
Do not place on or near a hot
gas or electric burner, or in a
heated oven.
When the coee maker
is on, or during a brew
cycle, never place a
plastic cup or brewing
vessel directly on the
heat plate, base of the
unit, or on the removable
mug platform. It will
cause melting and
permanent damage to
the unit and may cause
fire or injury.
Always make sure the carafe,
your mug, or your travel mug
are positioned properly to
accept the dispensed hot
liquid. Overflow can lead to
scalding hazards.
Scalding may occur if the Pod
+ Carafe Brew Area is opened
during the brewing process.
Never put your hands directly
on hot surfaces. Use handles
or knobs. Care must be taken,
as burns can occur from
touching hot parts or from
spilled, hot liquid.
• DURING BREWING: When
brewing is in process, the
heat plate, base of the Brew
Choice
™
Pod + Carafe, and the
Removable Mug Platform will
be HOT. Additionally, the liquid
and steam coming out of the
coee spout will be HOT. USE
CAUTION when touching the
coee maker. Avoid putting
your hands beneath the
coee spout and always make
sure your mug or carafe is
positioned properly to accept
the dispensed hot liquid.
• AFTER BREWING: Once
brewing is complete, the heat
plate and base of the unit may
remain hot for up to two hours.
USE CAUTION when touching
or moving the Brew Choice
™
Pod + Carafe.
• Any significant spillage onto
the surface under or around
the appliance, or onto the
appliance itself (especially
on the heat plate), should be
cleaned and dried before
continuing to use the appliance.
CARAFE SAFETY
• The glass carafe is designed for
use with this appliance. It must
never be used on a range top
or microwave.
• Do not set hot carafe on a wet
or cold surface.
• If carafe becomes cracked or
handle becomes loose, do not
use to avoid spilling hot liquid.
• Make sure carafe lid is tightly
sealed before serving any
beverages.
• Do not clean carafe with
abrasive cleaners, steel wool,
or other abrasive material.
