Security System Operation (if equipped)
If the security system has been triggered, either by the shock sensor, door opened, hood
opened, trunk / liftgate / liftgate glass opened, ignition turned on or the OE permitter sensor
being activated (Horn is honking and lights are ashing), it may be turned o using any of
the following methods during the alarm cycle or by waiting for the 30 second alarm cycle to
expire.
1. Pressing the (Unlock Button) or the (Panic Button) on the factory transmitter.
2. Entering in the “Unlock” code into the keypad located on the outside of the driver’s
door.
3. Pressing the (Panic/Car Find Button) on the 2-way remote start transmitter.
4. Turning the ignition “On”.
*Must have a valid key read if equipped.
If the security system was turned o using a method listed above, or allowed to complete
the 30 second alarm cycle, the horn will stop sounding, the parking lights will stop ashing
and the security LED will blink rapidly. The security LED will continue to blink rapidly until
the vehicle ignition has been turned to the “on” position.

The Trip I.D. function allows the user to identify which part of the security system was
triggered, by honking the horn a speci c number of times.
To access the Trip I.D. memory*, press the programming button** 1 time after entering the
vehicle. The vehicle horn will sound, indicating which input was triggered. Refer to the
chart below.
