Termination Reset (Byte 6 bit 1)
This bit toggles each time the Termination Count is reset.
Motion Status (Byte 6 bit 0)
This bit shows whether the device is moving or stationary. 0 is stationary and 1 is moving.
Message Cause (Byte 7 bits 7:6)
These two bits show the reason for the Engineering Message as explained in the table below:
Bit Pattern Explanation
00 Engineering interval expired
01 First run of device
10 Watchdog reset
11 Low battery warning
Note: The SXL1 will automatically generate an engineering message when the battery remaining is
calculated at 12.5% setting message cause to type 3 (11).
Engine Run Time (Byte 7:8)
Bytes 7 and 8 are a 16 bit count of minutes of accumulated run time. Once the value reaches 65,535
hours it will rollover to 0.
Reserved (Byte 7 bits 5:0 and Bytes 8:9)
The remaining bits in the Engineering Message are currently undefined and reserved for future use.

Labeling and Marking
The SXL1 displays all required regulatory and certification markings visible on the top, which will be
labeled or indelibly printed on the plastic. The ESN of the device is labeled or printed in both decimal
numerals and bar code. All markings are weather resistant and permanently affixed. Customers
must leave these required marks visible or duplicate the data in their own labels.
Unit ID
Each unit has a unique Transmitter ID (ESN).
