Nuance PDF Reader 7 Reference Guide
17
In some DM systems you can find a menu item for PDF or XPS files ‘Open
in PDF Reader’. If you have specified Nuance PDF Reader as your default
program for PDF or XPS files, a double-click on a file name or icon will
launch Reader and display the file.
In all cases except SharePoint, access is achieved through the interface of
the DM system itself; you may need to enter access information.
Access to Microsoft SharePoint is achieved through an interface provided
by PDF Reader. It consists of three linked dialog boxes.
The Open from SharePoint dialog box lets you view PDF files and convert
XPS files to PDF. Type a user name and password if prompted. Choose a
site by double-clicking its icon in the left panel and view its top-level
content on the right. Specify a file type and select the desired folder.
Click Open to see the next lower level content. Repeat until you find the
desired file; select it and click Open. Icon coloring shows which sites are
connected, which is active with a tick for the default site. Use the Look in
selection box and buttons in the upper right corner to navigate in the
folder structure and move in the display history. Choose Sites to display
the SharePoint Sites dialog box to specify further locations. Click Add to
define a new site in the Connection Settings dialog box. The Save to
SharePoint dialog box functions similarly.
Removing the program
