Using Pagis Pro 4–129
IndexContents
If you want to store a search database and all related documents
on a CD-ROM, there is a workaround:
Copy all the documents to a Jaz™ cartridge, index the Jaz
cartridge, and store the database there.
Then, copy the entire contents of the Jaz cartridge onto a CD-
ROM. Note that both the Jaz cartridge and the CD-ROM
must have the same volume label.
To index a removable drive, use the following procedure:
1. Start the Search Database Manager.
2. From the Database menu or Search Database toolbar, select
Create Search Database.
3. Enter a name for the new database.
Per Windows standards, the file name can contain up to 255
characters, including spaces. It cannot contain any of the
following characters:
\ / : * ? < > |
4. Enter or browse to a folder in which to store the database.
If you are indexing files on a mounted Jaz cartridge or other
readable/writeable drive, you can opt to save the database on the
same drive.
5. Define the directories that are to be included in the
database.
Click the Directories button. This displays the Select
Directories and Files dialog box (refer to Figure 4–63).
Click the checkbox of the removable drive to be indexed.
Click OK in the dialog box.
