Sleep Mode
Topause your work temporarily,switchtoSleepmode.InSleepmode,Mac-
SpeechDictateislistening,butitisinaspecialstatewhereitrespondsonlytoa
verylimitedsetof commands.Theyare:

Anythingelseyousaywillbeignored.Thisallowsyoutopauseyourworkand
haveMacSpeechDictateignoremicrophoneinputuntilyouarereadytoresume
work.
Toenter Sleep mode:
• Say
SleepMode

GotoSleep
.
• ChoosefromtheStatuswindowmodemenu.Themodemenuappearswhen
youclickthemodebuttonintheStatuswindow.
• ChoosefromtheSpeechmenu.
• ChoosefromtheDockmenu.
Tolearn whether you are in Sleep mode:
• LookattheStatuswindow.ItsmodebuttonshowstheSleepicon,andthemi-
crophoneappearswithablue“sleepballoon”withacrescentmoon.
• LookattheDockiconforMacSpeechDictate.(Alternatively,useCommand-
Tabtodisplaytheapplicationswitcher.)If youhavechosentheoptionto
badgetheDockicontodisplaythemicrophonestatus,itappearswithacres-
centmoon.
• Lookattheoptionalstatusmenuitem.Itappearswithacrescentmoon.
• LookintheSpeechmenu.Thefourthmodemenuitemsays“WakeUp”.
