Prolesforthisversionof MacSpeechDictateareincompatiblewithearlierver-
sionsof MacSpeechDictate.Prolesfromanearlierversionof MacSpeechDic-
tatearemarkedintheProleswindowwithaspecialicon( ).Youcanmakesuch
aproleactive;whenyoudo,itisupdatedforusewiththisversionof MacSpeech
Dictateandwillnolongerworkwithearlierversions.
Todismiss the Proles window:
• Createoractivateaprole,aspreviouslydescribed.
• ClickClose(atthelowerright).
TheProleswindowcontainsacheckboxlettingyoudeterminewhetherMac-
SpeechDictate,asitstartsup,shouldautomaticallycheck,overtheInternet,to
seeif yourversionof theapplicationisthenewestavailable.Thischeckboxisalso
presentintheGeneralPreferencespane.Youcanalsocheckforupdatesmanually
bychoosingDictate>CheckforUpdates.
Commands Window
TheCommandswindowisyourinterfaceformanagementof globalandappli-
cation-basedcommands.Thisiswherecommandsmaybeedited—modied,
created,activatedanddeactivated,anddeleted.
Toopen the Commands window:
• ChooseTools>Commands.
• ChooseFile>NewCommand.ThisisthesameaschoosingTools>Com-
mandsandthenpressingthe buttontocreateanewcommand.
