2 Click Shift +? to view directions about how to use PhotoMailer options.
3 Click to move through the PhotoMailer.
4 Click a final time to end the PhotoMailer.
Exporting a Desktop as a Web Page
Here’s a quick way to make your own personal Web page in a snap, using your favorite
photos or compositions! You can post a desktop full of photos or compositions as your
Web site, all with the help of Kai’s Photo Soap 2. The HTML pages that Soap 2 creates
are interactive! Visitors to your site can move thumbnails around on the exported
"desktop" or double-click thumbnails to see a full-size view of each photo.
You can export two different views of thumbnail arrangements: Lightbox and Desktop
views. An HTML export of Lightbox view is friendlier to older browsers. Use Lightbox
view if you expect the people who will look at your Web pages will be using a browser
that is too old to support current browser technology.
To export a desktop as HTML:
1 (Optional) Select one or more thumbnail in the Organize area.
If no thumbnails are selected, Soap 2 creates a Web page that contains all photos
that are currently loaded.
2 Choose Output menu > Export to HTML. (Refer to “Exporting a Desktop as a Web Page” on
page 141 for information about exporting a desktop of images for viewing on the
Web. Refer to “Exporting an Album as a Web page” on page 143 for information about
exporting an Album for viewing on the Web.)
3 Select a Resolution (Size). The resolution setting determines how large photos are
displayed when viewed at full-size by an Internet browser. Soap 2 automatically
selects a commonly used 640 X 480 resolution.
As you decide what resolution to select, keep in mind that a smaller resolution
means a smaller image file. Smaller files download more quickly. Remember, you
can always drop the resulting HTML page on your browser to preview image quality
at a selected resolution. A rule-of-thumb is to use the smallest resolution that still
