Use a command line to turn off Active Accessibility in Dragon for specific applications
1. ExitDragon.
2. Opennssystem.ini inatexteditor.Bydefault,nssystem.ini islocatedin:
C:\ProgramData\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking1313
SeeDragonfilestructureforinformationonDragonpathsinotherWindows
operatingsystems.
3. Under[MSAA Modules Disabled],addalinesimilartothefollowingforeachapplic-
ationwhereyouwanttodisabletheuseofActiveAccessibilityServices:

4. Saveandclosenssystem.ini.
5. Re-startDragon.
Forexample,todisableDragon useofActiveAccessibilityServicesinMicrosoftWordand
MicrosoftExcel,youwouldaddthefollowinglinestonssystem.ini:

Note:Ifyoudonotknowthenameofanapplication'sexecutablefile,youcanstartthe
applicationfromtheWindowsStart menuandthenusetheWindowsTaskManagertoview
thelistofcurrentWindowsapplications.TheexecutablenamesarelistedunderImage
NameontheProcessestab.Youcanalsoright-clicktheapplication'siconandselectthe
shortcuttab—theTarget fieldwillprovidethenameoftheexecutable.
Use a GUI to turn off Active Accessibility in Dragon for specific applications
1. OntheDragonBar,selectTools>Options.
2. SelecttheMiscellaneousTab.
3. ChecktheVoice-enable menus, buttons, and other controls, excludingoption.
4. BelowtheVoice-enable menus, buttons, and other controls, excludingoption,
openthedrop-downlist.Thelistcontainsinstalledandrunningapplications,andalsothe
followingstaticapplications:
-MicrosoftOutlook
-LotusNotes
-InternetExplorer
-MicrosoftWord
-MicrosoftExcel
-WordPerfect
5. ToturnoffActiveAccessibilityforanapplication,placeacheckmarkbesidetheapplic-
ation.
6. ClickOK.
