3. Ontheend-usersystemswheretheend-usersdictate,saveandcloseanyopenUserPro-
filesoneachcurrentDragonsystemthatusestheRoamingfeature.
IfthereisnotimewhenalloftheRoamingUserProfilesarenotinuse(forexample,ina
hospitalwherephysiciansuseDragonduringanightshift),administratorscanupgradedif-
ferentgroupsofRoamingUserProfilesatdifferenttimes.
4. OnthecentralnetworklocationthatstoresthecurrentmasterRoamingUserProfiles,back
upthemasterRoamingUserProfilestoaseparatelocationbyusinganysystembackup
utilitythatisimplementedatyourfacility.Onthecentralnetworklocationthatstoresthecur-
rentmasterRoamingUserProfiles,createanewdirectorytostoretheupgradedDragon
NaturallySpeaking13MasterRoamingUserProfiles.
AlwaysbesuretheupgradedUserProfilesareinadifferentlocationfromthecurrentUser
Profiles.Ifend-usersseetwoversionsofeachUserProfile,theymaybecomeconfused
whentheytrytoopenaUserProfile.NuancerecommendsstoringUserProfiles,fromdif-
ferentversionsofDragon,indifferentlocations.
5. IfDragonNaturallySpeaking13isnotinstalledonthecomputerwherethecurrentMaster
RoamingUserProfilesarelocated,createadirectoryonthelocalcomputerwhereDragon
NaturallySpeaking13isinstalled.ThedirectorystoresalltheMasterRoamingUserPro-
filesyouplantoupgrade.CopythecurrentMasterRoamingUserProfilesfromthenet-
worklocationtothisdirectory.
6. OntheadministratorsystemwhereyouupgradetheMasterRoamingprofilestoDragon
NaturallySpeaking13,startDragonandmakesuretheRoamingfeatureisturnedoff.
To turn off the Roaming feature:
n CloseanyopenUserProfiles.
n ClickTools>Administrative Settingsonthemenutodisplaythe
AdministrativeSettingsdialogbox.
n OntheRoamingtab,makesureEnableisnotselected.

8. OnthecomputerwhereboththecurrentMasterRoamingprofilesandDragonNat-
urallySpeaking13areinstalled,selectStart>Programs>Dragon NaturallySpeaking
>Dragon NaturallySpeaking Tools>Upgrade User Profiles.TheUserProfile
UpgradeWizardopens.
IfyoudonotturnofftheRoamingfeatureintheAdministrativeSettingsdialogboxbefore
attemptingtostarttheUserUpgradeWizard,youseeanerrormessagestatingthatyou
cannotupgradeaRoamingUserProfile.Ifyouseethemessage,gobacktotheAdmin-
istrativeSettingsdialogandmakesuretheEnabledcheckboxisnotchecked.
9. OntheSelect the profile(s) to upgradepage,clickBrowse to add a profiletoselect
thelocationofthecurrentMasterRoamingUserProfiles.TheSelect the profile(s) to
upgradepagenowdisplaysalistofUserProfilesintheselecteddirectory:
