AllofthesetypesofupgradescaneitherdisplaytheGUIorbesilent(notdisplaytheGUI),
excepttheminorupgrade,whichdoesnotsupportthesilentoption.UpgradestoDragon
NaturallySpeaking13areonlysupportedfromDragon11.xor12.x
WhenyouperformasilentinstallationofDragon,theinstallationprocessdoesnotdisplayany
messages.Toviewinstallationmessages,administratorsshouldviewthelogfiles.See

Upgrading Roaming User Profiles
BeforeupgradeUserProfiles,administratorsmustupgradeRoamingUserProfilesinthe
RoamingUserProfiledirectory.Afterwards,administratorscanupgradeDragonontheclient
computersandtheRoamingUserProfilesbecomeavailableassoonastheupgradeis
complete.

Background on Roaming User Profiles
BeforeadministratorsupgradeRoamingUserProfilestoDragonNaturallySpeaking13,they
needtorecallsomebasicsabouthowtheRoamingfeatureworks:EachDragonend-user
hasamasterRoamingUserProfilethatcanbeopenedfromanynetworkedcomputerwhere
Dragonisinstalled.ThemasterRoamingUserProfilesarestoredonanetworklocation.
WhenamasterRoamingUserProfileisopenedfromthatcentralnetworklocation,Dragon
transfersacopyofthatUserProfiletotheLocalRoamingUserProfileonthecomputerwhere
theend-userisdictating.
Recommended Approach
SincetheLocalRoamingUserProfileisacopyoftheend-userdatatakenfromthemaster
RoamingUserProfile,itdoesnotmakeanysensetodirectlyupgradetheLocalRoaming
UserProfilewhenupgradingthelocalDragoninstallation.
Instead,administratorsshouldinstallDragonNaturallySpeaking13directlyonthenetwork
computerwherethecurrentMasterRoamingUserProfilesarelocatedandupgradethose
MasterRoamingUserProfilesdirectly.AfterupgradingthemasterRoamingUserProfiles,
administratorscanthenproceedtoupgradeend-usersystemsthatdeploytheRoaming
feature.
