Installation using the Dragon installation process
PerformthefollowingstepstousetheuserinterfaceoftheDragoninstallationprocess:
1. InserttheproductDVDintheDVDdrive.Iftheinstallationdoesnotstart,runsetup.exe
fromtheDVD.
2. ChoosetheCustominstallationwithappropriatelanguagesandvocabularies.
3. ChoosetheCustominstallationwithappropriatevocabularies.
4. ChoosethefollowingcheckboxesunderAdditional optionstohaveadditionaldialog
boxespopupattheendoftheinstallation,whereyoucanmakechangesthataffectall
end-usersdictatingonthiscomputer.
l Modify the application's settings for all user profiles-DisplaystheOptionsdia-
logboxattheendoftheinstallation.
l Modify the administrative settings-DisplaystheAdministrativeSettingsdialog
boxattheendoftheinstallation,whereyousetuptheRoamingfeature,whereto
backupyourUserProfiles,andwhocanmodifycommands/vocabularies.
l Auto-Formatting options-DisplaystheAuto-Formattingdialogboxattheendof
theinstallation,whereyouapplyuniformformattingtoalldocumentsdictatedatthis
installation;forexample,formatsfordates,times,andphonenumbers.
5. WhentheOptionsdialogboxappears,selectthedefaultoptionsthatshouldapplytoallcli-
entinstallationsandclickOK.Thisdialogboxiswhereyousetupalltheoptionsunderthe
varioustabs(Correction,Command,andsoon).InDragon,youcanalsoprogramcus-
tomactionsintothebuttonsonthePowerMicIandPowerMicIImicrophones.
Note:SettingsunderthePlayback/Text-to-Speechtabarenotsaved.ToincludeText-to-
Speechasafeatureofyourinstallation,workwithoptionsinSummary:MSIOptionsfor
InstallingDragonFeatures/AdvancedOptions.
Note:Atleastonesupportedthird-partyindexing/searchsoftwareshouldbeinstalledon
thesystembeforeyouinstallDragon,ortheEnableDesktopSearchcommandscheck
boxwillnotonlybeunchecked,butwillnotbeavailabletobechecked.Dragonsupports
GoogleDesktopandMicrosoftVistaSearch.
6. WhentheAuto-Formattingdialogboxappears,selectAuto-Formattingoptionstoapply
toallclientinstallationsandclickOK.
7. WhentheAdministrativeSettingsdialogboxappears,ifyouwanttosetupRoamingUser
Profiles,settheoptionsunderRoamingUserProfile(tosettheHTTPorHTTPSsettings
undertheHTTPSettingsorHTTPSSettingsbutton,youmusthaveeitherhttp://or
https://infrontofthenetworkdirectorypath);whetheryouhaveRoamingUserProfilesor
not,settheoptionsunderMiscellaneousandScheduledTaskstabsandclickApplyfor
each;then,whenyouhavesetallthesettings,clickOK.
