Install Dragon on an initial computer and choose the
default settings
Beforeyouproceed,youshouldbefamiliarwithinstallingtheproductonasinglecomputer
fromtheDVD.Formoreinformation,seeInstalling,modifyingandupgradingDragon.
TheinitialinstallationisusedtosetdefaultvaluesfortheAdministrative,end-user,andAuto-
Formattingoptions.Theseoptionscanthenbeusedtoinstallonothercomputersusingthe
samevalues.
Evenifyouareinstallingfromaserver,youshouldrunthroughtheinitialinstallationbelow
first.Formoreinformationoninstallingfromaserver,proceedtoOverviewoftheNetwork
InstallationofDragonfromaServer.
Caution:Ifyouwanttosetanyadministrativesettings,besureyouhaveWindows
administratorprivileges.AdministratorrightsarenotrequiredtocreateaUserProfileoruse
thesoftwareafterinstallation.
Beforeyoubegin:
n InstallanypendingWindowsupdatesandrebootthecomputerwhenyouare
finished.
n Closeallopenapplications.
n Turnoffordisableantivirussoftware;theinstallationprocesscansometimestriggera
falsevirusreport.

Extracting MSI/MST Files from the Dragon setup.exe
SomeminorreleasesofDragondonotincludeanMSIfile.Instead,thefileispartofthe
setup.exefile.
Youcancarryoutanadministrativeinstallationusingsetup.exe,asfollows:
n CreateaserverimageofDragonfilesforlaterinstallingclients.Youcreatetheimage
byexecutingsetup.exeandpassingitthe/aoptionandaDragon-specificoptionthat
extractsMSTandMSIfilesfromtheDragonsetup.exefileprovided.
n UsetheoptionstoextracttheMSI/MSTFilesfromtheDragonsetup.exe.
Extracting MSI/MST Files from setup.exe
Thefollowingsetup.exeoptionsaredesignedtoextract.msi/.mstfilesforWindowsInstaller-
orienteddistributions.
Note:WhenyouinstallDragonNaturallySpeaking13,Dragoninstallsusingtheprimary
languagefortheproduct.YoucannotinstallDragonusingalanguagethatisdifferentthan
theprimarylanguage.Forexample,whenyouinstallDragon,Professional-Englishversion,
DragoninstallsusingtheEnglishlanguage.
Ifyouattempttousethe/loptionwithsetup.exetoinstallDragonNaturallySpeaking13
usinganon-primarylanguage,theinstallationprocessusestheprimarylanguageforthat
editionofDragonandignoresthe/loption.
