Chapter 5: Installing Dragon using the Windows installer (MSI)
Options Description
Install Dragon on a computer with Windows
administrator privileges.
Set options in the Options and Admin-
istrative Settings dialog boxes as required in
your environment and save them by closing
Dragon.
Copy the nsdefaults.ini file created by this
installation of Dragon to a separate location.
By default, the nsdefaults.ini is located in:
C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\N-
uance\NaturallySpeaking11\
Use the copied nsdefaults.ini as the input
for the DEFAULTSINI option.

A serial (license) number is required for all
installations. You must specify a valid serial
number on the command line.
Note: Specifying a serial number on the com-
mand line does not bypass the serial number
checking within setup.

Sets the default state of the product update
check box at the end of installation, to indi-
cate whether the installation should auto-
matically check the web for product updates.
Automatic product updates are not sup-
ported for enterprise installations.
A value of 0 (zero) turns the check box off
by default, 1 (one) turns it on by default.
To disable the option entirely (turn the
option off and suppress the display of the
check box altogether), set the value to –1.
The default setting is 1 (enables the check
box and checks for product updates by
default).
