Chapter 5: Installing Dragon using the Windows installer (MSI)
Browse button, find the correct location, and click Next.
14. The Begin profile upgrading page displays the number of User Profiles that the wizard is pre-
pared to upgrade.
Click Begin upgrading to start the upgrade process. The upgrade process can take 2-3 min-
utes or more per User Profile, depending on the speed of the computer system and the speed of
the network. Click Stop at any time to interrupt this process. The upgrade process creates new
master Roaming User Profiles in the destination you selected.
15. Click Finish to complete the upgrading process and exit the User Profile Upgrade Wizard.
The User Profile Upgrade Wizard renames Dragon 11 or greater master Roaming User Pro-
file as follows: <name> (v11). For example, Dragon copies and renames a 10.x Master
Roaming User Profile named roaminguser1 to roaminguser1 (v11) when the profile upgrades to
Dragon 11 or greater . Dragon does not change the 10.x Master Roaming User Profile named
roaminguser1.
16. (Optional) If you cannot install Dragon where the original Master Roaming User Profiles are
located and those User Profiles were copied to another computer where Dragon 11 or greater
was installed, copy the upgraded Master Roaming User Profiles back to the new network-acces-
sible directory that you created to store them.
17. Since the User Profile Upgrade Wizard leaves the Dragon 9.x or 10.x master Roaming User
Profiles unchanged and in their original network location, the Dragon 9.x and 10.x systems can
continue to use the Roaming feature until you upgrade the systems to Dragon 11 or greater . Fol-
low the steps in "Major and Minor Upgrades: Silent Upgrade" and be sure to enable the Roaming
feature. In the Network Directories settings, set the correct path to the upgraded Roaming User
Profiles.
18. Run Dragon on the end-user system and open a User Profile.
