Serial Connections
The Simplex 4010 NION requires that a Simplex model 4010-9811 dual EIA-232 card be installed in the Simplex
4010 FACP. The NION communicates to the 4010 FACP through serial port P6 onboard the 4010-9811 card.
Figure 2-2 diagrams the wiring between TB1 of the NION and P6 (Serial Port B) of the 4010-9811.
Serial Communication Settings
The EIA-232 settings of the NION are 9600 baud, 8 data bits, No parity and 1 stop bit. The Simplex 4010 fire
panel must match these settings in order for the NION to communicate with the panel properly.
NOTE: Use only wire for power limited
systems. Power limited wire runs use
type FPLR, FPLP, FPL or equivalent
cabling per NEC 760.
