5. For safety, lay the hitch frame down until it’s resting on the adjusting bar (#3).
Tractor Hook-Up
Hooking up a tractor to equipment is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. Do not allow
anyone to stand between the Spike Tooth Harrow and the tractor during hook-up operations. Do not
operate hydraulic 3-point lift controls while someone is directly behind the tractor or near the harrow.
A 3-point, category I hitch is required. The lower 3-point arms of the 3-point hitch must be stabilized to
prevent side-to-side movement. Most tractors have sway blocks or adjustable chains for this purpose.
1. Rotate the hitch frame up to a vertical position (figure).
2. Slowly back the tractor up to the harrow while using the 3-point hydraulic control lever to align
the lower 3-point arm holes with the hitch pins.
3. Engage the tractor park brake, shut the tractor engine off, and remove the key before
dismounting from the tractor.
