Dealer Set-Up
The 51442 is shipped fully assembled with the hitch frame pivoted down onto the harrow frame, the
bolt (#1), and locknut (#2) stored in back hole “A” of the adjustment bar (#4) and the spike teeth are
folded completely up. Leave the hitch and spike teeth in the folded up position except when hitched to
a tractor.
When adjusting the angle of the spike teeth, wear gloves to help protect your hands from bruises and
pinch points.
The hitch can unexpectedly fall backwards when not hooked to a tractor. This can cause bodily injury.
When not in use, always store the harrow with the hitch pivoted down onto the harrow frame.
The spike teeth should be supported off the ground before adjusting the angle of the spike teeth.
While removing the bolt to change the tooth angle, the harrow may suddenly rotate, creating a pinch
point hazard and/or falling hazard.
Back and extremity pain can occur if you pull on the angle adjustment lever with the teeth resting on
the ground.
1. If necessary, readjust the lever arm (#8) to protect the hitch frame (#5) from being scratched
as it is rotated up. Unwrap the support chains (#4) from the hitch frame (#5) and carefully
rotate the hitch up to the position shown.
2. Loosen the locknut (#7A) until the bolt (#6A) pivots in the gang bar hole (#2).
3. Remove the bolt (#6B) from the lever arm (#8) and reinsert it through the center hole in the
adjustment bar (#3) and the top hole in the lever arm (#8). Secure it with a locknut (#7B) and
tighten it to the correct torque.
4. Attach the end of the support chains (#4) to the right- and left-hand side rails (#1) with the
7/16"-14 x 1 1/4" GR5 cap screws (#6C), flat washers (#9), and hex locknuts (#7C). Tighten
the nuts to the correct torque.
