G. The operator is not spacing the spread runs properly for the correct overlap.
For best results, cover the area twice over at one half recommended material usage rate. The
second time over, run halfway between the first spreading width or in a crisscross pattern.
This method allows the most complete and even coverage, as well as giving the operator a
chance to adjust the gate setting to compensate for too thin or too heavy of a covering the
first time over.
H. Spreader should run level or tilted slightly forward. Make sure the lift arms on the tractor are
adjusted so one side is not lower than the other.
I. Running the agitator when not spreading can result in material being ground up and possibly
packing over the control gate opening. You can ‘over-agitate’ material.
