Intended Use A heavy-duty, steel framed NorTrac 3-Pt. Middle Buster with a standard 14-inch reversible furrower makes it the perfect tool for breaking up hardpan, digging wide or shallow trenches, and forming seedbeds. The middle buster can be used to plant and dig potatoes, form ridges for other crops, and form drainage ditches. The digging depth can be adjusted from 6 inches to 8 inches. Keep children and bystanders away from the work area while operating the middle buster. Do not allow children to handle the middle buster. Be aware of all power lines, electrical circuits, water pipes, and other mechanical hazards in your work area. Some of these hazards may be hidden from your view and may cause personal injury and/or property damage if contacted. PERSONAL SAFETY Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating the middle buster.
Specific Operation Warnings To prevent serious injury or death: Read and understand the Owner’s Manual before operating, servicing, or repairing equipment. Stop the engine, remove the key, and set the brake before dismounting the tractor. Operate from the tractor seat only. Never allow riders on the equipment. DO NOT stand between the implement and the tractor. Keep hands and feet clear from the shovel while engine is on. Keep bystanders at least 50 feet away while operating.
4. For proper operation, level the middle buster by adjusting the tractor’s linkage. This will ensure that it will run straight. 5. The tractor’s 3-point hydraulic lift system should be set to transfer most of the middle buster’s weight and draft to the tractor to maximize traction. (There may not be a 3-point draft control on some small tractors. Refer to the Tractor’s Owner’s Manual.) 6. Set your 3-point hitch depth control to operate the middle buster at the desired depth.
