Assembly Instructions
1. Attach the 3-point upper link (#10) to the scarifier frame with the hardware, as indicated;
making certain the upper link is free to pivot.
2. Position the scarifier frame in an upright, stable position on suitable supports or attach it to the
tractor 3-point hitch.
3. Insert shanks (#3) into the shank tube from the bottom side, with tips pointing towards the
tractor. Position the shank to the desired depth and secure with the shank lock pin (#5) and
clip (#6).
4. Connecting the blade to the scarifier:
a) Swing the lock handle (#7) up and out of the way.
b) Lower the frame hitch pins of the rear blade, or landscape rake into the slot, and swing
the lock handle back to lock the hitch pins in place.
c) Attach the upper link (#10) to the upper hitch of the rear blade or the landscape rake
frame. Note: The top hitch pin and the linch pins are to be furnished by customer.
Hooking up the tractor to equipment is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. Do not
allow anyone to stand between the scarifier and the tractor during hook-up operations. Do not operate
the hydraulic 3-point lift controls while someone is directly behind the tractor or near the scarifier.
Tractor Hook-Up
A 3-point category I hitch is required. The lower 3-point arms of the 3-point hitch must be stabilized to
prevent side-to side movement. Most tractors have sway blocks or adjustable chains for this purpose.
1. Locate a flat and level concrete surface.
2. Slowly back the tractor up to the scarifier while using the tractor’s 3-point hydraulic control to
align the lower hitch arms ball swivels with the hitch lugs on the scarifier.
3. Engage the tractor park brake, shut tractor engine off, and remove the key before
dismounting from the tractor.
4. Attach the lower arms to the hitch pins and secure with linch pins. NOTE: Linch pins are
supplied by the customer. (See the illustration below.)
5. Connect the top center link to the upper hitch using customer supplied clevis pin and linch pin.
If required, start the tractor and slowly raise the 3-point hitch about 1” - 2" to align the center
link with the scarifier center hitch pin hole.
6. Ensure that the lower hitch arms are blocked to prevent excessive side movement.
7. Return to the tractor and slowly operate the controls up and down to check for clearance
between the scarifier and the tractor tires, frame and drawbar. Move or remove the drawbar if
it interferes with the scarifier.
8. Manually adjust one of the two lower lift arms up or down to level the scarifier from left to right.
9. Manually adjust the length of the top center link to level the scarifier from front to rear.
