Additional Comments
A little practice and experience working with the different attachment combinations and adjustments
that are possible with your fork attachment should make you highly effective in a very short amount
of time.
Tractor Hook-Up
Hooking up a tractor to equipment can be dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. Do
not allow anyone to stand between the fork attachment and a tractor during hook-up operations. Do
not operate the hydraulic 3-Point lift controls while someone is directly behind the tractor or near the
fork attachment.
A 3-Point Category 2 hitch is required. The lower 3-Point arms of the 3-Point hitch must be stabilized
to prevent side-to side movement. Most tractors have sway blocks or adjustable chains for this
purpose.
1. Locate a flat and level concrete surface.
2. Slowly back the tractor up to the fork attachment while using the tractor’s 3-Point hydraulic
control to align the lower hitch arms ball swivels with the hitch lugs on the fork attachment.
3. Engage the tractor’s park brake, shut the tractor engine off, and remove the key before
dismounting the tractor.
4. Attach the lower arms to the hitch pins and secure with linch pins. (Linch pins are supplied by
customer.)
5. Connect the top center link to the upper hitch using customer supplied clevis pin and linch pin. If
required, start the tractor and slowly raise the 3-Point hitch about 1 - 2" to align center link with
fork attachment center hitch pin hole.
6. Ensure that lower hitch arms are supported to prevent excessive side movement.
7. Return to the tractor and slowly operate the controls up and down to check for clearance between
fork attachment and tractor tires, frame, and drawbar. Move or remove the drawbar if it interferes
with the fork attachment.
8. Manually adjust one of the two lower lift arms up or down to level the fork attachment from left to
right.
9. Manually adjust the length of the top center link to level the fork attachment from front to rear.
After Each Use
Unhooking the Fork Attachment
1. Park on a level, solid surface.
2. Lower the fork attachment until the object is resting on level ground or until its main beam is
resting on solid supports.
3. Engage the tractor park brake, shut the tractor engine off, and remove the key before dismounting
the tractor.
4. Stabilize the fork attachment with bracing before unhooking the tractor’s 3-Point arms. Make sure
the bracing is secure and will not slip while unhooking.
5. Unhook the 3-Point hitch from the tractor. Reinstall the hitch pins, linch pins, and hair pin cotters
in the fork attachment for safe keeping.
6. Remove the bracing and rotate the fork attachment down so that it is laying on the ground or use
auxiliary supports, such as planted posts in the ground, to prevent the unit tipping over.
Storage Safety
1. Store the unit in an area away from human activity. Do not permit children to play on or around the
stored unit.
2. Make sure all parked machines are on a hard, level surface and engage all safety devices.
3. If support blocks are used, make sure they are solid and secure before leaving area.
Maintenance
1. Keep all persons away from the operator control area while performing adjustments, service, or
maintenance.
2. Periodically tighten all bolts, nuts, and screws and check that all cotter pins are properly installed
to ensure the unit is in a safe condition.
3. Never use your hands to locate a hydraulic leak on attachments. Use a small piece of cardboard
or wood.
