Summary
Most Ethernet Switch and Ethernet Routing Switch platforms are being converted to be compliant
to the RoHS directive.
Some PECs will not be available until after the RoHS deadline potentially necessitating a Last
Time Buy of older non-RoHS hardware to cover the gap in availability.
A number of PECs will not ever be converted to RoHS. These can still be ordered and shipped to
EMEA after the deadline but only for use as spares for pre-1

July 2006 installed switches.
Customers can execute Last Time Buys on non-RoHS platforms to be deployed in new switches
providing it is in customer’s possession prior to the deadline.
External Communications
The following Ethernet Switch and Ethernet Routing Switch documents will be updated to reflect
availability of RoHS hardware:
• Global Price Book: RoHS entries will be added to the price book as RoHS versions become
available. Restrictions on ordering non-RoHS hardware for EU countries after the deadline
will be highlighted.
• Product Collaterals: These will be updated to reflect RoHS compliance.
• Product Bulletin: These will be updated to reflect RoHS compliance.
• Frequently Asked Questions: FAQ’s will be produced to clarify availability of products.
