IP Softphone 2050 Settings
82
Server
Use the Server dialog box to configure the connection between the
IP Softphone 2050 and your communications server and, if applicable,
the GXAS server. You can either use the default method (DHCP) or
manually specify an IP address.
To open the Server dialog box, select Server from the list in the left pane
of the Settings window.
The following sections describe the Server settings:
• “Reset button” on page 82
• “Using IP addresses and DNS names” on page 83
• “Restoring defaults” on page 83
• “Resetting the connection” on page 84
Reset button
When you select the Reset button in the following procedures, the phone
resets immediately without any warning.
However, if you make a change to the settings and select Apply or OK,
the phone indicates that a reset needs to take place. A warning message
appears—"IP softphone 2050 must reset for the configuration changes to
be complete. Select Yes to reset now or select No if you plan on resetting
later". You can select Yes to reset now, or No, to defer it until later.
Using DHCP
With Automatic (DHCP) enabled, the IP Softphone 2050 reads server
addresses from a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server.
Note: To use DHCP, your Local Area Network (LAN) must include a
DCHP server. Contact your System Administrator to configure the
server with the correct IP address values.
