4.7.2 Example for configuring STM-1 CPOS interfaces
Networking requirements
You use the CPOS interface to enhance the convergence ability of the router. The STM-1
CPOS interface aggregates several E1/T1 interfaces.
Some mid-range-and-low-end routers access the transmission network through E1/T1 leased
cable. The user, requiring a bandwidth between E1/T1 and T3 (44M), such as the date center,
leases several E1/T1s at the same time. All the bandwidths converge to one or more
channelized POS interfaces and then access Router A. A unique timeslot defines each
mid-range-and-low-end router.
You can have only one transmission network between the channelized POS interface and the
mid-range-and-low-end router. You can adopt other transmission methods as well.
