4 POS and CPOS interface configuration
Nortel Secure Router 8000 Series
Configuration -WAN Access
4-24 Nortel Networks Inc. Issue 5.3 (
30 March 2009)
Before configuring the synchronous serial interface, you need to run the shutdown command
to disable the interface. After the configuration, you need to run the undo shutdown
command to start the interface to validate the configuration.
4.5.2 Configuring attribute parameters of synchronous serial
interface
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2 Run:
interface serial interface-number
The synchronous serial interface view appears.
Step 3 (optional) Run:
crc { 16 | 32 }
The command configures the CRC check of 16 bits or 32 bits.
By default, the synchronous serial interface uses the CRC check of 16 bits.
NOTE
Only the synchronous interface channelized by the RTP1CPE1 and RTP1CPT1 interface cards supports
the crc command. By default, low-speed CPOS interface cards use the 16-bit CRC check.
Step 4 (optional) Run:
mtu mtu
The MTU is configured.
By default, the MTU value is 1500 bytes.
When the local synchronous serial interface and that of the remote device communicate with
each other, the attribute parameters on both ends should be consistent.

4.5.3 Configuring link layer protocol of synchronous serial
interface
