z
The user name or the password is incorrect
z
The router is configured incorrect.
Troubleshooting procedure
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1 Before the binding is complete, check whether the physical status of the interface is Up. Use
the display interface command to check if the status is Up. If the status is not Up, check
whether the network cable of the Ethernet interface is correct.
Step 2 If the AAA authentication is adopted, check whether the username and the password entered
in the PC are the same as the username and the password used in AAA.
Step 3 Check whether the virtual template is bound on the Ethernet interface connected to the PC.
Use the display current-configuration interface command to check whether the virtual
template is bound on the Ethernet interface connected to the PC. If not, use the pppoe-server
bind virtual-template number command in the interface view to bind the virtual template.
Step 4 Use the display pppoe-server session command to check whether the session number is
equal to the maximum PPPoE session number. If the session numbers are equal, use the
pppoe-server max-sessions command to re-configure the PPPoE session number. If the
PPPoE session number has reached the maximum limit allowed in the system, additional
sessions cannot be connected.
