Step 2 Run:
interface atm interface-number[.subinterface ]
The ATM interface or the sub-interface view appears.
Step 3 Run:
pvc { pvc-name vpi/vci | vpi/vci }
The command creates a PVC and the PVC view appears.

In normal cases, the vci values 3 and 4 are reserved for special usage. Nortel recommends users to
not use these two values.

The values of vpi can vci cannot be 0 at the same time.
Step 4 Run:
encapsulation aal5-encap
The command configures the encapsulation type of the PVC as AAL5.
Step 5 Run:
map ppp virtual-template vt-number
The command configures the PPPoA mapping on the PVC.
The AAL5 encapsulation type for PVC can be aal5snap, aal5mux, aal5muxunstandard or
aal5nlpid.
By default, it is aal5snap.
If MPLS, MTU, and ISIS are necessary on the VT interface, then they should be configured before the
PPPoA mapping over PVC. Otherwise, these parameters do not take effect.

10.6.3 Checking the configuration
Run the following commands to check the previous configuration.

Check the configuration and
status of the ATM interface.
display interface atm [ interface-number ]
[ .subinterface ] [ | { begin | exclude | include }
regular-expression ] [ interface-type ]
Check information about the
PVC.
display atm pvc-info [ interface interface-type
interface-number [ .subinterface ] [ pvc { pvc-name
[ vpi/vci ] | vpi/vci } ] ]
Check information about the
PVC mapping.
display atm map-info [ interface interface-type
interface-number [ .subinterface ] [ pvc { pvc-name
[ vpi/vci ] | vpi/vci } ] ]
